Low-Code >> High Control — A LANSA webinar with Forrester Research and Brunswick

The term ‘low-code’ was defined by Forrester Research in 2014 to describe a new development platform that enables rapid application delivery with a minimum of hand-coding, and quick setup and deployment, for systems of engagement.

Since then, low-code development platforms have further fragmented into simple departmental solutions for citizen developers through to heavy-duty IT-driven enterprise development and everything in between.

In this webinar we’re going to explore:

  • how the low-code market is changing, the options available and what the fragmentation of low-code means
  • the implications for IT leaders exploring low-code and whether the benefits outweigh trying another new development strategy

We have three speakers who will look into the suitability of low-code platforms for building enterprise apps. Here’s the format of the 45-minute session:

  • John Rymer, VP, Principal Analyst at Forrester Research will discuss the different types of IT Pro low-code offerings and what they bring to the table.
  • Keith Arteaga, IT Manager at Brunswick Bowling will discuss his team’s real-world experiences using low-code development to replace their core business operations application when it had reached end-of-life.
  • John Rymer will have a Q&A session with Keith Artega to discuss the choices they made when developing their applications, the challenges they faced and how they overcame them.
  • Finally, I will outline the approach LANSA has taken and how our unique low-code offering with its language-based approach delivers all the productivity of low-code while still affording the highest control over the development process.

Join us on September 18 at 11:00 am EDT/10:00 am CDT/4:00 pm BST for what promises to be an illuminating session on the applicability of low-code in different situations and hear the real-world low-code development experience of Keith and his team from Brunswick.

The LANSA suite of Application Development and Integration tools first saw the light of day way back in 1987 as a Repository-based Rapid
Application Development (RAD). LANSA’s genesis sprang from our practical association with the Colgate-Palmolive company in Australia.
